A DJI drone flew over the top of Everest for the first time in history

DJI has announced that their Mavic 3 drone has flown around Mount Everest. This is the first civilian drone to do so. Video footage from the drone’s cameras is available on the company’s official YouTube channel.

The idea of ‚Äč‚Äčlaunching a drone to photograph the peak of the mountain came from the team of the Chinese photo website and the organization of photographers 8KRAW. They were the ones who lifted the Mavic 3 drone to the top. DJI said that a special detailed plan was developed that would allow videographers using drones to capture the beauty of the mountains and the surrounding views.

The idea was implemented despite the fact that the device is designed to climb to a height of 6,000 meters, operate at temperatures of up to -10 degrees Celsius and wind speeds of up to 12 meters per second. According to company representatives, at the peak of Everest, these indicators significantly exceeded the established parameters.

The shooting was carried out due to the modification and special setting of the device. At the same time, the organization does not elaborate on how exactly this process was carried out to withstand the harsh conditions at the top of the mountain, as reported by The Register. As a result, it was possible to raise the drone to a height of 9,232 meters, and from this point it was possible to shoot a three-minute video.
