DuckDuckGo will start blocking Microsoft trackers

According to 9to5Mac, the developers of DuckDuckGo will revise their policies and make the company’s search program more secure.

Recently, it became known that the creators of the DuckDuckGo search engine had an agreement with Microsoft and allowed the company’s trackers to work. DDG positions itself as a private search service that completely blocks the tracking systems of Google and other large corporations. However, Microsoft DuckDuckGo ignored the trackers, and this behavior of the service was justified not by an error or failure, but by a partnership between the companies.

After users expressed their displeasure, the creators of DDG decided to disable Microsoft’s trackers as well. Also, a page will appear on the company’s website, which will provide a detailed explanation of how DDG interacts with trackers, what it blocks, ignores, etc.

The updated version of the apps for iOS and Android will soon be available in the App Store and Google Play. A corresponding browser extension will also be available in test mode in the near future.
