The authorities of the United Arab Emirates have developed and implemented a new strategy “Metovsellenna Dubai”. According to it, they plan to enter the top 10 countries with developed economies in the metauniverses. The project envisages the creation of 40 thousand additional virtual jobs, as well as an increase in the budget by 4 million dollars over the next five years.
Dubai’s Crown Prince Hamdan bin Mohammed said on his Twitter account that the “Dubai Metaverse” aims to stimulate innovation in the field of new technologies. It includes plans to increase the number of companies from the blockchain and metauniverse sector by five times in five years.
Bloomberg reports that the UAE government aims to implement global standards in creating safe and secure platforms for users, and develop infrastructure and regulations to accelerate their widespread adoption. Support will be provided to developers, content creators and users of digital platforms.
There are already more than 1,000 such organizations operating in Dubai at the moment, bringing in about $500 million to the national economy. The city’s biggest companies continue to enter the metaverse, and they include Emirates, Damac Group, as well as Thumbay.
